At the heart of our eco-friendly operations is Cornerstone Energy Park (CEP), a testament to our 70-year legacy as Louisiana's innovative intermediate chemical producer.
Under the guidance of Shawn Ward, Director of Corporate Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Sustainability, Cornerstone employees are consistently setting new standards in Louisiana chemical sustainability. At this time, our primary initiatives include reimagining CEP to develop processes built on principles of decarbonization and other future-focused investments.
This includes the integration of cutting-edge technology for efficient energy use and the implementation of advanced recycling methods, ensuring that CEP always remains at the forefront of eco-friendly chemical production.
At Cornerstone, we believe in leading by example. Our path to a greener future is paved with deliberate and thoughtful initiatives, right here in our community. In 2021, we launched a significant project with global sustainability consultant GHD to conduct a materiality assessment, identifying key environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas crucial to our operations and community relations. We've begun to lay the foundation for fulfilling our responsibility as environmentally conscious stewards.
Our efforts in emission management and air quality improvement are driven by state-of-the-art technology and innovative practices. We take pride in our proactive approach to sustainability, which includes recycling, community engagement programs, transparent operations, and more.
These initiatives not only reflect our dedication to preserving the environment but also our commitment to supporting our Jefferson Parish community as a whole.
